Celebrating the Diasporist

The Diasporist invites you to join us at bUm on 3 July to celebrate the launch of our magazine.
|
The evening will take the form of a late-night talk show, hosted by Emily Dische-Becker, member of the Diasporist’s board and frequent contributor. The title for the event is “Historic Losers: How to Survive and Thrive in Germany in the 21st Century.”
|
Over the course of the night, Emily and her guests, including Achan Malonda, Alena Jabarine, Basma Al-Sharif, and Ben Miller, among others, will discuss strategies for finding defiant joy in the face of Germany’s infamous negative hospitality and for maintaining hope amidst the apparent triumph of authoritarian nationalism.

Following the panel, there will be live DJ sets as well as the chance to come together, chat with Diasporist staff and contributors, and watch the late summer sunset from the terrace.

The evening is also a fundraiser for the Diasporist. Tickets are by donation, ensuring our magazine can continue to survive and thrive along with all of us.
